In October 2021, Mark Zuckerberg announced the change in the name of his company, now called Meta. Its flagship product is a virtual universe called Metaverse, but…  what is Metaverse? It’s the evolution of the current “social media”, a virtual universe promising a full-on immersive experience and a paradigm shift in the user-interface relationship.

 

Most importantly, users will dive in completely thanks to an avatar (character) they make themselves that will be able to navigate this world through virtual reality glasses for various purposes, such as entertainment, interacting with other users, work, study, game, and many more we can’t even fathom!

 

Undoubtedly, this is a paradigm shift in our horizon that will -probably- take a couple of years to fully integrate into our daily lives. However, certain characteristics of this universe, such as virtual reality, already coexist in our marketing strategies, inviting us to take our first step towards changing our mental chip. This paradigmatic leap will require marketing professionals.

 

Use of Artificial Intelligence for automation and trend identification. 

 

Although Artificial Intelligence has already been part of our daily lives for a couple of years, 2022 is bringing the need to incorporate these tools to make more competitive and efficient digital marketing strategies. 

 

Examples of applied Artificial Intelligence can be found in Google and Facebook systems, allowing you to segment your ads by identifying potential audiences with certain quirks (for example, those who want to make a certain purchase or who are about to make a change in their lives). We’re also witnessing the boom of new systems that allow you to identify audiences and spread them throughout your sales funnel, so you can send tailor-made messages and content to influence their purchase decision at the right moment in their costumer journey. 

 

Google Web Stories

 

That’s right. Google also joined the Story format of short videos or images just like Instagram or TikTok in 2021. They are presented in carousel mode and offer new immersive browsing experiences and mobile traffic generation within searches in the Google Discover app. A valuable tool when capturing the attention of Internet users allowing them to take a quick look at the content they can find on your website.
